TRAILER
SHALOM is the follow-up to my last short, animated film, Lock the Gate.
It combines 3D animation in Autodesk Maya, 2D animation in Adobe After Effects, as well as live-action video shot in Jasper National Park (CA), Banff National Park (CA), Williamsville, New York (USA), and Ellicottville, New York (USA).
FILM SYNOPSIS

Why Shalom? The initial inspiration for this film was a sermon series at my church, titled Shalom, back in 2022. Upon learning more about the full meaning of the word shalom, it really resonated with me, and inspired an idea for an animated film centered around the word.

Around the same time, I traveled to the Canadian Rockies.
During this trip, I had the opportunity to abide in nature, challenge myself with daily hikes, and also spiritually renew my mind. It was an incredible experience that left me full of peace, and helped to ease the stress and tension I was feeling. I decided that the videos that I took would be a great representation of that feeling, in the film.

Since beginning production on the film, the continuous war, political tension, and loss of life all over our world has added to the meaning of the film in many new ways.
