About us
Sarah Galasso began her career in 2000, as the first-ever, full-time animator at Fisher-Price, Inc. After six years with the company, Sarah launched August Productions.
Sarah's student films screened at a variety of venues including the Brooklyn Museum of Art. For her professional contributions, Sarah has received the Champion Performer Award from the President of Fisher-Price, three Telly Awards, and the 2014 Award of Excellence from the Videographer Awards, for her role as Executive Animator on the nationally-aired ABC-TV documentary, Building a Basilica. Sarah's latest independent film, Lock the Gate, which was completed in 2022, has screened at festivals around the world. She has traveled as far as Daegu, South Korea to discuss the artistic production of the film.
In addition to running August Productions, Sarah is also very passionate about teaching. She was a Full Professor and the Program Director of the BFA in Animation Program at Villa Maria College, in Buffalo, New York, from 2008-2020. She is now an Associate Professor of Digital Media Arts/Internship Director at Canisius University, where she looks forward to sharing her knowledge and experience with the next generation of up-and-coming artists and storytellers.
